Focus Scriptures

  • "But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." – Joshua 24:15

Committing your Family to the Lord

Day 9 of our prayer and fasting journey focuses on family, a cornerstone of God’s creation and design. Joshua 24:15 is a powerful declaration of faith and commitment—a decision to ensure that our households serve the Lord.

Our families are a precious gift from God (Psalm 127:3), and as stewards, we are called to cover them in prayer. Whether it’s thanking God for their presence, asking for His protection and provision, or interceding for unsaved loved ones, prayer is a vital way to uplift and strengthen our families.

Praying for unsaved loved ones

As followers of Christ, we have a unique opportunity to intercede for those in our families who have yet to know Him. Acts 16:31 assures us that when we believe, our faith can have a ripple effect, influencing our households. Trust in God’s ability to touch their hearts, and pray with persistence and hope.

Prayer Points

Use these prayer points to guide your time with God today:

  1. Thank God for the gift of family and the blessing of loved ones (Psalm 127:3).

  2. Pray for God’s protection and provision for your household (Philippians 4:19).

  3. Intercede for unsaved family members to come to know Christ (Acts 16:31).

Challenge for Today

Write a prayer for your family, naming each member specifically. Pray for their unique needs, and ask God to draw them closer to Him. Take a moment to express your love and appreciation to a family member today.

May God’s blessings and presence fill your home, and may your family grow closer to Him daily!
