Focus Scriptures
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." – Matthew 5:16
Shining Your Light
On Day 3 of our prayer and fasting, we focus on living our faith boldly and visibly in the public sphere. Jesus calls us in Matthew 5:16 to let our light shine before others. This isn’t about drawing attention to ourselves but glorifying God through the way we live.
Your workplace, school, and community are mission fields where your words, actions, and attitudes can reflect Christ. When you step out in faith and live boldly for Him, others are drawn to the light of Christ in you. It’s a powerful testimony that points them to the hope and truth of the gospel.
Being a light in the world requires courage. Romans 1:16 reminds us not to be ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God that brings salvation.
Faith in Action
Living your faith is more than words; it’s demonstrated through action. James 2:17 challenges us that faith without works is dead. As believers, our deeds should align with our faith, showing love, kindness, and generosity to those around us.
Consider the opportunities God has given you to serve and shine His light. Whether it’s helping a colleague, supporting a friend in need, or being a voice of encouragement, each action reflects God’s love. Remember, the light you carry is a gift from God Himself (2 Corinthians 4:6).
Prayer Points
Let these prayer points guide your time with God today:
Pray for boldness to reflect Christ in your workplace, school, and community (Romans 1:16).
Ask God for opportunities to demonstrate your faith through good deeds (James 2:17).
Thank God for His light shining through you as a testimony to others (2 Corinthians 4:6).
Challenge for Today
Take a deliberate step to let your light shine today. Look for a specific way to demonstrate your faith, whether through an act of kindness, a word of encouragement, or a prayer for someone in need.
Let your good deeds point others to the glory of God and His transforming power in your life.
May God empower you to shine His light boldly as you pray and fast today!
