Focus Scriptures

  • "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal." – Matthew 6:19-20

Living with Eternity in Mind

As believers, we are called to live with an eternal perspective, prioritizing heavenly treasures over earthly ones. Earthly possessions are temporary and subject to decay, but the treasures we store in heaven are eternal and indestructible. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:19-20 to align our hearts and actions with His kingdom, investing in what truly matters: faith, love, service, and obedience to God.

Living for eternal rewards means focusing on things of eternal value, such as relationships, generosity, and sharing the Gospel. These actions echo in eternity, leaving a legacy that reflects God’s glory. When we make choices with eternity in mind, we shift from a life of self-centeredness to one of kingdom-centered purpose.

Aligning with God’s Eternal Plan

Prioritizing eternal rewards requires wisdom, discernment, and grace. Colossians 3:2 urges us to set our minds on things above, not on earthly things. It’s not that earthly possessions or blessings are bad, but they should never replace the ultimate goal of knowing Christ and glorifying Him.

Your daily decisions, like how you use your time, resources, and talents, have the potential to bear eternal fruit. By seeking God’s wisdom and walking in obedience, you can ensure that your life points others to Him and leaves an eternal impact.

Prayer Points

Use these prayer points to guide your time with God today:

  1. Ask for the grace to focus on heavenly treasures over earthly possessions (Colossians 3:2).

  2. Pray for wisdom to prioritize actions that have eternal value (1 Corinthians 3:13-14).

  3. Thank God for the promise of eternal rewards and His guidance (Revelation 22:12).

Challenge for Today

Reflect on your priorities. Are there areas in your life where earthly concerns are overshadowing eternal purposes? Write down practical steps you can take to realign your focus on things of eternal value serving others, investing in relationships, and living a life of generosity and obedience to God.

May your heart and actions align with God’s eternal plan as you live a life that glorifies Him!
