Daily Bible Plan - Day 58

19 April 2025

This bible plan was created by Nicky and Pippa Gumbal.

Prayer of the Day🙏

Lord, help me to live a life set apart for You. Make me holy as You are holy—not by my own strength, but through Your Spirit in me. Shape my heart with humility, love, discipline, and peace. Let my whole life reflect Your presence and purity. Amen.

Scriptures of the Day

• Psalm 27:1–6 – “One thing I ask from the Lord… to gaze on the beauty of the Lord.”

• Mark 9:33–10:12 – “If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last and the servant of all.”

• Leviticus 1:1–3:17 – “Be holy because I, the Lord your God, am holy.”

• Romans 12:1–2 – “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God.”

The Call to Holiness

Holiness is not just a spiritual quality—it’s a way of life. The Hebrew word for “holy” means “set apart,” and God invites us into this set-apart life, where every aspect of who we are is offered to Him. This isn’t about perfection, but devotion.

Psalm 27 paints a picture of fearless living grounded in worship. In the midst of threats and chaos, David finds peace by anchoring his life around one thing: gazing upon God’s beauty. Worship wasn’t an afterthought—it was his center.

Jesus takes this deeper in Mark 9. He reframes greatness through six marks of holiness:

  1. Humility – True leadership is seen in servanthood.

  2. Love – We welcome others, especially the weak and small, as though we are welcoming Jesus.

  3. Tolerance – We honor those who serve Christ even if they don’t look or act like we do.

  4. Discipline – We deal seriously with our own sin and don’t let it grow unchecked.

  5. Peace – Unity matters. Jesus wants us to live in peace with one another.

  6. Faithfulness – In relationships, especially marriage, we’re called to reflect God’s unwavering commitment.

Leviticus gives us a rich backdrop: God is holy, and everything near Him must reflect that. The rituals may seem foreign today, but they point us to the ultimate sacrifice—Jesus—who makes us holy through His blood.

Romans 12 brings it full circle: our response is to offer our lives—our schedules, our relationships, our habits—as living sacrifices. Holiness becomes our everyday worship.

Takeaways🔑

• Holiness means setting your life apart for God’s purposes.

• It is seen in our humility, love, discipline, and pursuit of peace.

• Jesus makes us holy, and the Holy Spirit empowers us to live it out daily.
