Daily Bible Plan - Day 51

10 April 2025

This bible plan was created by Nicky and Pippa Gumbal.

Prayer of the Day

Lord, I want to meet with You today. Search my heart. Cleanse my hands. Purify my thoughts. Thank You that through the blood of Jesus, I can come boldly into Your presence. Let me encounter You afresh today.

Scriptures of the Day

  • Psalm 24:3–4 “Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.”

  • Mark 5:34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

  • Hebrews 10:14 “For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.”

The Pathway to God's Presence

In 1949, revival swept across the Hebrides. It began not with big events or famous speakers, but with a small group of believers praying faithfully in a barn. One night, a young man read from Psalm 24 and was convicted to examine his own heart. He asked if his hands were clean and his heart pure. That night, the presence of God filled their gathering, and what began there eventually touched the entire island.

Psalm 24 reminds us that meeting with God isn’t casual. Holiness matters. Clean hands, a pure heart, and honest worship create space for God's presence. But none of us meets this standard on our own. That’s why the cross is central—because of Jesus, we are made holy, and God invites us into His presence.

In the New Testament, people met God through Jesus. The woman with the issue of blood touched His garment in faith and was instantly healed. Jairus’ daughter was raised to life by His word. Wherever Jesus moved, the presence of God was real, and lives were changed.

In the Old Testament, only the high priest could enter the Most Holy Place once a year. But now, Jesus has opened the way for us to live in God’s presence every day. We don't need to wait for a special moment or location—God meets us wherever hearts are open, and faith is alive.

Takeaways

  1. Holiness prepares the heart to meet with God. Clean hands and a pure heart are not about perfection, but about sincerity and surrender.

  2. Faith is the key that unlocks encounters with God. Like the woman in Mark 5, simple trust can lead to profound healing and peace.

  3. Jesus has made full access possible. Through His sacrifice, we are welcomed into God’s presence—not once a year, but every day.
