Prayer of the Day
Lord, thank you that your love is not distant or abstract—it's personal. Help me to see you as my Shepherd, my Lord, my Guide, and my Saviour. Teach me to trust you in every season and to remember, always, that you love me.
Scriptures of the Day
Psalm 23:1 - “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.”
Mark 4:39 –“He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.”
Hebrews 9:12 - “He entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.”
The Lord Is My Shepherd
The young shepherd boy in the Welsh hills couldn’t read or write, yet he grasped something many overlook—God’s love is personal. He was taught to remember the words, “The Lord is my shepherd,” by counting each word on his fingers, holding the fourth—“my”—close. When he was later found, having died in a storm, he was clutching that very finger.
That small gesture speaks volumes: God's love isn’t just for “the world”—it's for you. St. Paul says, “The Son of God… loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20). From Psalm 23 to the storms of Galilee to the plans for the tabernacle, Scripture shows a God who cares intimately and personally.
He leads like a shepherd, prepares a table like a host, calms storms like a protector, and heals like a redeemer. And through every detail—even down to tent measurements in the wilderness—He’s saying, “I see you. I love you. You are mine.”
Takeaway
God’s love for you is:
Personal – He is not just a shepherd—He is your shepherd.
Present – Whether you’re in green pastures or stormy waters, He is with you.
Powerful – He calms chaos, heals brokenness, and brings purpose to small beginnings.
