Prayer of the Day
Lord, thank You that while I may not know everything, I can trust You completely. Help me to rest in the knowledge that You hold all things, and give me the wisdom to embrace what You have revealed. Amen.
Three Truths About the Secret Things of God
There are some questions to which we know the answer, and others where the best response is, “I don’t know.” The Bible teaches that “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us” (Deuteronomy 29:29). Here are three important truths about what we do and don’t know:
1. Trust God with the Unknown (Psalm 18:37–42)
We often worry about the future, fearing the unknown. However, God arms us with strength for whatever lies ahead.
What you don’t know: You don’t know every challenge or battle that awaits you.
What you do know: God has strengthened you before, and He will strengthen you again. “You armed me with strength for battle” (Psalm 18:39).
Application: Instead of fearing the unknown, trust that God will equip you for whatever comes next.
2. Be Ready for Jesus’ Return (Matthew 24:32–25:13)
Jesus tells us that some aspects of His return are revealed, while others remain unknown.
What you don’t know: No one knows the exact time or hour of Jesus’ return (Matthew 24:36).
What you do know: You are called to “keep watch” and “be ready” (Matthew 24:42, 44).
Application: Live each day prepared, focusing on loving God and others.
3. Accept That Some Answers Belong to God (Job 38:1–40:2)
God challenges Job with questions that highlight human limitations in understanding suffering.
What you don’t know: You may never fully understand why suffering happens.
What you do know: God is in control, and His plans cannot be thwarted (Job 42:2).
Application: When faced with suffering, trust in God’s wisdom rather than demanding all the answers.
Overall Takeaway
Trust God with the future, knowing He will provide strength.
Stay spiritually ready, even though we don’t know when Jesus will return.
Embrace humility, accepting that some answers belong to God alone.
Lord, help me to trust You in the unknown, to live prepared for Your return, and to rest in the assurance that You are in control. Amen.
